5 Steps to Craft a Winning CV

Identify the skills and experience they are looking for and try to see how your skills and experience match up to it. 


Look for Keywords

When you are crafting a CV, try looking for keywords given in the job description. Try to add these keywords if they are relevant to your skills and experience. This will help your CV get picked up by ATS (Application Tracking System). This will boost the likelihood of your CV getting picked up by a human recruiter. 


Tailor Your CV to Match the Job Role

If you keep submitting the same generic CV to all the jobs you apply, the chances of your CV getting noticed is slim as every job, even for the same role, tend to have different skill and experience requirements. 


Use Bullet Points

When describing your skills and experience try using bullet points. Most recruiters will be scanning your CV to figure out if your skills and experience match up with their requirements. Crafting CVs with bullet points will make it easier for them when they are sifting through many CVs, sometimes hundreds, to find the right candidate for the job. 


Use Templates

There are plenty of CV templates available online, offered by sites like Canva, which you can use and choose to craft your own CV. This will help you stand out by allowing you to create an aesthetically appealing CV.
