Intermittent Fasting for Beginners | The Natural Method To Lose Weight, Boost Energy, and Regenerate Your Body by Luca Morelli
Recently I read a book on Intermittent fasting that was an interesting read. The writing style was simple and accessible. As a person who had heard about this but had no deep idea about how intermittent fasting worked, I learned a lot from this book. This book made me curious about how intermittent fasting worked. Intermittent fasting introduced many core concepts that imparted a clear and succinct understanding on how this method was a healthy approach towards enhancing one’s quality of life.
As a person who hasn’t read many books on health and lifestyle, I had no idea what to expect from this book. But this book was written in an informative tone that conveyed a ton of useful information without unnecessary fluff, just the way I like it when it comes to non fiction. The author introduced practical approaches as to how one could start investing in intermittent fasting.
The book introduced concepts such as the 16/8 method, which means that one should fast for 16 hours and consume food for the remaining 8 hours. While this idea sounds challenging, the author gives practical tips inspired by his approach to practicing intermittent fasting. This book was different from a lot of books I had read because it included plans and recipes that one could use if one decided to try out this fasting method.
Additionally, the book highlighted why intermittent fasting is different from other diets stating that it was a lifestyle and thus was easier to put to practice. The book explained scientific concepts like autophagy which helps to clean the body. Intermittent fasting is thought to activate this system.
I like the way this book made intermittent fasting seem like something anyone who wanted to could try out. I especially liked the passage “if there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the biggest changes start with the smallest steps. I’m not asking you to overhaul your life overnight, but to take smaller steps towards a healthier, happier version of yourself.”
The book highlighted many benefits of intermittent fasting including weight loss and fat burning, improved energy and focus, blood sugar and reduced inflammation, cellular regeneration and longevity and the impact on mind and emotional well being.
If you are interested in this topic you should check this book out. It is easy to read, I got through it in a day and found it deeply fascinating and a delight to read.
